Rollinger Family Spring Portraits

I photographed this family when spring started really coming into bloom. I was trying to think of safe ways to get photo work in the pandemic, and I heard that some photographers were doing mini outdoor shoots on peoples porches, and I thought it sounded like a great idea! A lot of those photographers were also donating part of what they made to folks struggling due to the pandemic, and I decided to support MAMAS (Mutual Aid Medford and Somerville). They’ve been so diligent and organized making sure people in the community can cover food and medical costs and get other resources without putting themselves at risk. I’m really proud to be part of it!

The baby in this family was singularly focused on the beautiful magnolia tree, and the parents had to keep swiveling to make sure he was turned to the front. Eventually we just decided to go with it and let him play with a flower, and he was happy and let us get some great photos! We also had to go for the classic “toss the baby in the air” photos, which he loved. I’m so grateful to them and everyone who’s supported my business in this weird. time.
