Justine&Chris Bodek’s Oceanside Wedding

I photographed Justine and Chris’ wedding with the amazing Joey Phoenix, a good friend who I’ve worked with for several years. Justine is a school teacher, and Chris is a talented musician. It’s always been important to me to have a connection with the people I photograph, and I had a felt really welcome! I had a great time helping the bridesmaids and groomsmen get ready, it gave me a chance to get to know them before the ceremony. The band Chris in performed the music for the reception, and they were incredible!

The venue was right on the ocean, and the view was beautiful, but it also happened to be home to a lot of geese! Of course, they pooped everywhere, and there was quite a smell in the air. I was impressed by how the wedding party didn’t let it get in the way of their having a good time. The hotel staff tried reduce the smell with a bottle of air freshener, but it only made it worse! There any things you can’t anticipate with wedding photography.
