Lyda over the years- my photographic development

I’m lucky to have such good friends and family, they’ve always supported my dream to become a freelance photographer. I wouldn’t be where I am without their help. One of those friends is Lyda Langford. If you’ve been on my website before, you’ve probably seen photos of Lyda. We’ve been best friends since high school, and we grew up going to the same Unitarian Universalist church. Lyda’s mom, Anne Goodwin, is also an amazing person. I took photos of Anne a while back, and many of them are on her website: She used to direct the holiday pageants, and now she uses music to promote social change. Lyda is currently studying  fiber arts at the Maryland Institute College of Art. You can see Lyda’s work here:

Lyda has helped me make tough business decisions, find my aesthetic, and develop the way I interact with my photographic subjects. They’ve also let me photograph them for years, which has given me a chance to experiment, and also lets me make something beautiful and productive with my friend. Photography has been a way for Lyda and I do explore our identities and play with forms of expression over the years. I’m very grateful to them, and I look forward to many more years of silliness and creativity!
