I don’t do a lot of weddings, but when my friend Betty-Jeanne asked me to photographer hers, I couldn’t say no! I’ve known Betty-Jeanne and her family since I was 2, they’re great people. She’s a Unitarian Universalist lay minister, and generally a conscientious and silly person! The wedding was at the lovely Lyman Estate in […]

I spent a lovely afternoon picking strawberries with my good friend and fellow photographer/artist Joey Phoenix. I love mixing friendship with creative productivity! Check her amazing website and Facebook page!
For this 4th of July, I got to have three celebrations! I went to the Somerville Fireworks where I had fun with some long-exposure shots, then I had a night picnic at Robbins Farm in Arlington with some friends, and went to a party at a friends’ house. I also recently got a new camera and 50mm […]
Every couple months, I go to a meet up or training with Socializing for Justice (SoJust for short). I’ve learned some great tips about networking, branding, social media, freelancing and more! Check them out: Twitter Facebook Meetup
I was privileged to photograph musician and innovator Deepti Navaratna. Deepti has a background in south Indian classical music, which she mixes with many other musical styles. She’s been facilitating a music series called “Dialogues with the Divine”. The concert I photographed was an exploration of Hindu and Christian music, and it guest starred an […]
I did a creative exchange for a lovely gentleman named John Smith. He gave me lessons in music editing and programming in exchange for a head shot session. He studies at Berkelee School of Music and he specializes in creating music for video games. I’m grateful to him for all his help! You can check […]
I recently had the pleasure of photographing the Asian American and Pacific Islander Mental Health Forum (AAPI) at Umass Lowell. AAPI was the first conference I photographed when I started up Leah C-S Photography. There were some great discussions about improving intergenerational communication to preserve culture and tradition, as well as some fabulous traditional Cambodian […]
I recently photographed an awards ceremony for the Department of Mental Health. Awards were given to members of the community who have severe mental health diagnoses and have found employment, stability and fulfillment. It was wonderful to see people overcoming stigma and acknowledging each other’s successes!
I was asked by the 1199 chapter of SEIU to cover this event last minute, and I’m sure glad they reached out to me! 1199 SEIU brought together home care workers, nursing home workers, hospital employees and more to fight for a $15/hour minimum wage and better healthcare. Attorney General Maura Healy gave a speech at […]
I recently photographed the Mother’s Day event for WAND (Women’s Action for New Directions). It was a great combination of relaxed, productive and inspiring! The speakers include Sayre Shelden, a founding member of WAND and Congresswoman Katherine Clark. I hope to wok with WAND again!
